All-on-6 vs All-on-4 cost: how the choice changes the price
Two more implants sounds like a big jump. In practice the bridge is most of the cost, so the difference is usually smaller than people expect.
Six implants usually cost a little more than four, because of two extra implants, their parts and some extra surgical time. The bridge on top, the scans and the stay cost much the same. At Precious Dental the difference is £500 for both jaws. What changes a quote far more is grafting, the bridge material, and what's included.
Why the difference is small
- The bridge is the biggest part. Whether it sits on four or six implants, it's a full arch of teeth, made and fitted the same way.
- Scans, planning and aftercare are the same.
- What's added is two implants, their connecting parts, and some extra time in surgery.

What changes a quote more than four or six
- Bone grafts or a sinus lift, if six would need them and four wouldn't
- The bridge material: zirconia or acrylic on a titanium bar. Materials
- One jaw or both, and whether a price is per jaw or for both
- Extractions, temporary teeth, scans, medication: included or extra?
- Travel and stay, if you're having treatment abroad
UK prices, for context
In the UK, implants are usually only available privately. A survey of more than 25 UK implant dentists, reported by Dentistry.co.uk in 2017, found an implant-supported full-arch bridge or denture averaged £13,425, with quotes from £9,000 to £25,400. Those fees didn't include consultations, scans, extractions or grafts. The figures are dated and per arch, but they show how widely quotes vary.

Common questions
How much more does All-on-6 cost than All-on-4?
It varies by clinic. At Precious Dental the difference is £500 for both jaws. In the UK, quotes vary widely, so ask any clinic for itemised prices for both options.
Is it worth paying more for six implants?
If your bone suits six, many people feel the margin is worth the extra. If six would need a graft that four avoids, the real difference is larger. Decide on the clinical reasons first, then compare the itemised cost.
Is All-on-4 or All-on-6 available on the NHS?
Rarely. The NHS says implants are usually only available privately, except for some people who can't wear dentures, for example after mouth cancer or an accident.

Checked October 2026. Where we give our own view as a clinic, we say so.
Only a scan can settle it.
Send us an X-ray or scan if you have one. A dentist will tell you which option suits your bone, and say so honestly if neither is the right step.
